Yeico Dario Quinonez De La Cruz.

A tribute to Jacob:

There are no words to express what he meant to us and the enormous hole that is left behind in his absence. If you ever shared a space a space with Jacob, most likely you shared a conversation with him too. Jacob could talk to anyone and he could make any conversation light by cracking a joke. His personality was magnetic - his ideas, his voice, the way he talked, the way he walked with integrity. Jacob was wise beyond his years and he fought through more in his 18 years than many could imagine. He was loving and bright, always playing off his brilliance with style.

Jacob was a community leader and someone that our kids looked up to. He showed our kids that you can struggle through something and make it out with still holding your head high and holding love in your heart. Jacob was proud to have graduated high school with flying colours and with many awards, even though his brilliance was beyond anything he could be contained in the walls of a school.

On August 5th, Jacob was gone. The depth with which he is loved is now the depth of our grief and sorrow. His dreams, the dreams his family had for him, the dreams we had for each other came to a halt. At 18 years old, his motorcycle was struck by a drunk driver and he was gone. At the same time...Jacob is not gone because none of us are the same having known Jacob. His dreams of uniting the Jane, the dreams he had for his community prospering are dreams that we will never give up on.

Jacob was a fierce protector of his family - especially his sister, his mom and his girlfriend, meant more to him than anything else. At this time we want to help to make sure that Jacob's family is taken care of the way he would have wanted. We are fundraising for the cost of Jacob funeral, supports his family will need and whatever may help to carry his family through this.
