COVID Treatment for My Uncle Bergman
The short , gray haired guy in the photo below is my uncle Bergman. I call him Tío Sapo. It means Uncle Toad — he's got a voice like no other.
About 2 weeks ago Tío Sapo contracted COVID. He was strong for the first few days but late last week his body started to crash. Right now, he's unconscious, on a respirator, and his heart is having a hard time keeping up.
The good news is that the treatment he's receiving is helping.
The bad news is that my aunt and their 3 daughters are running out of cash.
The real bad news is that they need to come up with another $6500 USD by Saturday or else the hospital will stop treatment (the hospital system in Boliva works differently than in the US).
Back in Bolivia my family extended family has been desperately trying to raise money.
I'd really like to help them out.
Your contributions will go toward the following:
- procedure to drain the blood that's pooled in his lungs
- continued access to medication
- paying for an extended stay in the ICU
- literally giving my family more time with Tio Sapo.
I am so grateful for any contribution.
Thanks
