Bert Bergen’s Medical Recovery Fundraiser

We are raising funds for our good friend Bert Bergen who is currently facing serious medical and financial challenges. In August, while riding his bike home from his studio, Bert was run over by a garbage truck. The accident resulted in major traumatic injuries, including two broken legs, severe tissue damage, and the loss of his left hand. He has since had multiple surgeries and an ongoing and lengthy hospital stay with months of recovery and physical therapy ahead.

These are life changing injuries and will require time, effort, and support to recover from and adjust to. All of this has had a significant impact on Bert and his wife, Cori and is a time of great uncertainty. To help them focus solely on recuperation, we ask for help in hopes of alleviating some of the financial burden related to his recovery.

Bert has always been a prolific visual artist, musician and generous friend while in Olympia, San Francisco and his current home of Brooklyn, NY. He is deeply committed to his artwork and his friendships, often collaborating with other artists and musicians, and contributing to the cultural community. Bert’s humor, inquisitiveness, and adventurous spirit are inspiring to many. He is also an enthusiastic dog dad to his two “fur babies”, Klaus and Jose.
