Bessie care

Hello, Candy and Justin here.

Bessie our cat was diagnosed with Renal (kidney) Failure a few years ago. More times than not when a cat is diagnosed with this, if caught in time, the disease can be managed with meds and a specialized diet. She seemed to be doing well for a while and only recently has started showing drastic signs of a decline in health. It happened fast. We took her to our vet last week who suggested we immediately get her urgent care at a vet hospital. Of course, we didn't think twice.

We love her so much and she has been a wonderful addition to our family. We adopted her from Urban Fauna about 12 or 13 years ago. We were there to get dog food and she was a featured pet up for adoption. She immediately caught our eyes by showing an interest in us as we entered the store. It was love at first sight. We had lost our cat Freeka a year earlier to cancer and as broken-hearted as we still were, we decided this was the right thing to do. Plus Kracker (our sweet dog) needed a fur friend too as he was also mourning the loss of his friend. She has been amazing to have all of these years and has shown me feline love I had never imagined possible. Her relationship with Justin is admirable too and one of a kind. After we lost Kracker in 2017, she was everything we needed to help with the healing.

We brought her home from Dove Lewis yesterday as her bloodwork was not showing improvement and they suggested we have her home where she is comfortable. She was there for 4 days. As you can imagine, it is very expensive to keep a pet in ER care. We aren't ones to easily ask for financial help. Usually, we can take care of these things on our own. But we could really use the help paying for this. We are asking for the $3000 which would cover half of the Dove Lewis bill and the in home euthinasia which is inevitably coming. The funds will be paid to a lender (Care Credit) with high-interest rates.

Bessie is not improving since we brought her home yesterday. We will update with any changes.
