The B.E.S.T Program
Donation protected
My name is Kevon Bruce and I am the Guidance Counselor for the class of 2020 at Easton High School. I am starting a program for young men of color. Being in education, I’m sure we’ve all seen and heard of programs for our young brothers whom may have lost their footing on the path to success. But where are the programs and recognition for our young men who have been diligent and purposeful in their decisions and actions which are leading them to greatness?
The launch of the B.E.S.T (Brothers Entering Success Together) program intends to serve this population.
Why is it important to have this program?
First and foremost, we want to let these young brothers know that they have not been passed over. We also want to encourage positive reinforcement, ensure a safe environment for peer mentorships, exercise leadership and to embrace the academic rigor within this population.
Why am I reaching out to you?
This program cannot stand alone without the support from students, staff, parents and community members. You all are the foundation to the successful launch of this program.
Community members that are interested or willing to donate funds, time and/or resources to the cause are greatly appreciated. If at this time you cannot help the launch of this program may you please pass this information along to a friend, family member or colleague that may be able to do so.
Additionally, I’m open to suggestions and tips to make this program successful here in Talbot County.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me at (410) [phone redacted]. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
With Kind Regards,
Kevon K Bruce, M.Ed
