Beth Austin -Medical Crisis- Can you help?

My name is Sarah and I am fundraising for Beth Austin during a very difficult time.

Beth woke up over 2 months ago and felt numbness and tingling in her hands and feet. She couldn’t stand or grip her phone.

She went to the hospital where the numbness, tingling, and nerve pain quickly overtook her entire body; including her face and scalp.

She was quickly admitted to the hospital and many specialists including neurology, endocrinology, physical therapy, etc. tried to find a diagnosis but so far have been unable to do so.

After 7 weeks in the hospital, she was sent to a rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility where she is receiving physical and occupational therapy 5-6 days a week. I handful of healthcare professional have termed her a ‘medical mystery’.

There has been some slow progress, but her insurance is running out and she desperately needs help to continue the therapy she is receiving which costs 14k per month. Then there are costs for skilled nursing services, home health care, etc. Meanwhile, the personal monthly bills don’t stop. This is why we are trying to raise such a large sum of money.

She is scared but is leaning on her care team and on her faith. She knows she has a long journey ahead and appreciates any help that you may be able to contribute. Beth thanks you all, and we will keep you updated.
