Beth Fergin's Healing Journey

Donation protected
Many of you know that Beth has been on a healing journey since 2014, when she went through chemotherapy and surgery to remove a large tumor in her chest.  Little by little, Beth rebooted her psychotherapy practice as well as her life of dance and hiking, swimming , yoga and Qigong.

Five years later to the month in January of 2019, Beth received a diagnosis of a rare and aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.   She had to close her practice and was hospitalized for chemotherapy treatment,  followed by outpatient chemo through August.  She then determined to support her own healing through Qigong through an intensive 4-day training retreat with a Chinese master in Minneapolis, MN.  She returned and reopened her private practice.  In October, two months after the last of the chemotherapy treatments, a scan came back showing new tumors had appeared around her body.  She had to close her practice again to focus on her healing.  The route of medical intervention is still not clear yet.  Her doctors have recommended waiting and postponing further treatment until her next PET scan later this month.

Beth likes Caroline Casey's interpretation of cancer as "inappropriately enthusiastic cells whose primary characteristic is they've forgotten and lost the capacity to cooperate, and have no respect for boundaries".  Her focus now is to "out-enthuse" these inappropriately enthusiastic cells through a deeper dive into healing through her Qigong practice. The master with whom she trained in Minneapolis last summer works with many cancer patients and has shown Qigong to be a powerful means of addressing cancer.

Once again determined to support her own healing through a deepening of this practice, Beth has decided to return to Minneapolis to undertake an individualized, intensive healing retreat through Qigong.  The cost of this training is tiny compared with the medical interventions involved in treating her cancer but, needless to say, the Qigong work is  not "on the menu" of any health insurance company!

I have created this GoFundMe account as a way to help support Beth in her healing journey through you, her community of  family, friends, co-workers, clients and others.  I invite you to contribute at ANY level--from $5 to $500--and I am certain that even the most modest amount of financial support will be gratefully received by Beth--both as a gift of healing from your heart, and as a means of empowering her in her own healing through Qigong.

The cost of the 5-day intensive, individualized training is $2400.
Transportation (flights, ground transport), $600.
Food & lodging, $470.

Total Costs / Financial Goal of this GoFundMe campaign:  $3470

I am ever-amazed, humbled and inspired by the grace and resilience with which Beth has responded to her physical challenges over the last five years. She seems to keep her roots in the ground, her branches powerful, yet lithe. She brings a lively playfulness and humor, intelligence and curiosity that enliven and enlighten all of us who know and love her.  It is my prayer that our support may shine light, hope and love on the path of her healing journey!

Heartfelt thanks to all of you! Feel free to send this invitation on to anyone you think might want to help in this act of communal generosity.
