Hello, my name is Naomi and I'm fundraising for one of my best friends, Beth Richardson after an unexpected medical crisis. She went in for a routine surgery, which went WAY wrong!!! In recovery, she coded after 10 minutes and it was life & death at that point. The Doctor had accidentally knicked her aorta in the first surgery & thought he had fixed it. So now she's coded after 10 minutes in recovery and bleeding badly. They called for the " MASS TRANSFUSION" team overhead! Beth was then taken back into surgery to find & stop the bleeding. 3 surgeons working for over 2 more hours in a second surgery. They saved her thank god! She was in ICU that night, then the post surgical unit for a week. She got out for a day or two, then back in for 3 nights and 4 more days because she was in so much pain, plus we were worried something was still wrong. She's unexpectedly off work, unpaid for 6-8 weeks, not able to lift more than 5 lbs or drive at this point. She just moved back from Montana so has no PTO or paid leave from her new job. She"s a single mom, so these funds are for her to pay rent, utilities, car, gas and food for her and her 2 daughters for the next 2 months. UPDATE- She's been back in the hospital twice now since. Just admitted tonight 12/27 & has an infection. Another surgery needed & it will probably be in Eugene or Portland & she'll be off even longer, so I've updated our goal amount. This is so scary, but she's a fighter, a tough cookie like most single mom's have to be. Keep the prayers coming, thank you.
