Beth Milstead Cold-Capping

Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Beth Milstead. I am a teacher, wife, mother and friend who has been diagnosed with stage 2 invasive breast cancer. Next week I will start Chemotherapy. Since my breast cancer is triple positive (ER/PR/HER2), I will be able to wear a cold-cap during treatment and with luck, be able to keep most of my hair. This is a fairly new but simple technology that keeps the scalp cooler during chemo treatment, keeping the hair follicle cells protected and reducing hair loss.

I honestly think this will help my children (ages 6 and 9) feel less threatened by the enormity of what is happening.
Unfortunately, health insurance will not cover the costs of the cold-cap because it is considered cosmetic rather than medical care. I really want this for the kids-- to help them have a sense of normalcy during the treatment, by not having the treatment have such a dramatic change to my appearance.
If you would like to support us now, one way you can help is by contributing to this gofundme page to pay for the cold cap treatment. Any additional money donated here will be used for medical bills and other expenses related to treatment (such as childcare/summer camp for the kids during treatment).
thank you,
Beth Milstead
