Bethann Grace’s Gift
Donation protected
Hello, this is Luke and Andrew. We are Beth’s sons. While Mom's passing on June 7th was heartbreaking, there have been so many beautiful opportunities that have been presented to our family. Although Mom battled cancer at the end of her life, those of us that knew her know that she was a lifelong fighter of Type 1 Diabetes and she was an advocate for the research and advancement of treating and curing Type 1 Diabetes. Her last pump was one of the numerous clinical trials she participated in, and she worked to figure that pump out up to her last days. Many of you have reached out about flowers and donations, etc, so we are setting up this GoFundMe to give back to those amazing folks at the Vandy Cancer Clinic, and most importantly, to give to the Vanderbilt Pediatric Diabetes Program at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Over the course of the last year, Mom had hundreds of appointments at Vanderbilt Cancer Center, so we were privileged to interact with the most amazing, caring, and heartfelt professionals in the world. From the valet service, to Bob at the lab, the wonderful nurses at the Infusion Center, and Dr Iams and his amazing staff, there was never a day where mom didn’t feel like the most important patient of the day.
100% of the money from this GoFundMe will go towards a special lunch for the Cancer Center Valet Service, a lunch for the folks at the Phlebotomy Lab and Infusion Lab, a special gift for Bob the Greeter at the lab, and the remaining funds will be given to the Vanderbilt Pediatric Endocrinolgy Department for the wellness activities of the children receiving treatment.
Mom had an adoring heart for Vanderbilt, as she was employed there for 27 years. It’s bittersweet to give back to a place that was so loving and kind to her.
Thank you,
Luke and Andrew
