Bethany Nesbitt Memorial Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
We are starting a memorial scholarship in Bethany's honor. She was a student at Grace College and pursuing a career as a Child Life Specialist, helping children and families navigate the process of illness, injury, disability, trauma, or hospitalization.
She was a selfless and loving friend, a source of constant encouragement to all those around her. She had a passion for helping others, especially children, and her sassy sense of humor and wonderful laugh put them at ease. Bethany loved Jesus.
This fund will be used to provide scholarships to students with similar dreams and financial needs.
The details are still pending and we plan on updating this page with new information very soon. It is our goal to raise as many funds as we can to ensure this scholarship fund makes a difference in the lives of many students and keeps Bethany's legacy alive.

Bethany Nesbitt, sweet daughter and sister, passed away peacefully in her dorm room in Winona Lake, Ind., where she was a student at Grace College. She was 20. She was the baby of our family, the youngest of nine children. Bethany, of Grand Ledge, Mich., was positive for COVID-19 and had been quarantined in her dorm room for 10 days. The official cause of death was a pulmonary embolism — the result of a blood clot — which, according to medical journals and several medical experts we have consulted, is recognized as being one of the most common causes of death among COVID-19 patients.
Bethany was born in Lapeer, Mich., on June 1, 2000, the youngest of nine children to Steve and Brenda Nesbitt. She graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 2018, and was studying at Grace College to become a child life specialist.
Bethany is survived by her parents and her doting siblings Stephanie (David Laczak), Daniel (Laurelin Sterns), David (Jennifer), Peter, Stephen (Colby), Rachel, Elizabeth and Carol. She was a devoted aunt to Rose, Avery, and another nephew due in November. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, her favorite cat, Baby, and the family dog, Amy.
