Hey gals & guys!
My name is Bethany and I'm a freelance illustrator and comic artist from Austin, TX. Currently I have the opportunity to be able to advance from working a life of tech support and focus more on my artistic aspirations in town, but I need a little help getting started.
Feel free to check out my art blog: Bethany Can't Draw
Life in ATX has been great, but I'm having a rough time since I got sick this past summer. Unfortunately, I've been greatly effected by the gentrification of the eastside. Rent has gone up over $200 due to the new condo construction and rapidly expanding population, and I'm going through a rough career transition on top of ill-timed medical leave from work . As a result I've been forced to deplete my savings to pay bills and medical expenses. As a bit of added stress, my 12 year old pooch - Roxy - is reaching the end of her life, however I can't afford any end-of-life services for her at this time either.
I've been hesitant to reach out for charitable donations, but I'm at the end of my rope just as I was getting the strong enough to climb higher. I am reaching out to you guys for assistance instead. I understand that rent is due for everyone and times are tough, but even a couple dollars would really help me be able to pay my rent and ensure Roxy gets the farewell she deserves when the time comes.
