Flint Water Crisis: Bethel UMC

I am a Yale University Divinity Student, and one of our YDS alums pastors a United Methodist Church in Flint, Michigan. Her name is Pastor Faith Green Timmons and her church is located in the heart of where the lead crisis has taken place. Bethel UMC and their surrounding community have been deeply affected by the Flint water crisis.
They are in need of funds, to enable the mass purchasing of water filters for their church and their community. Filters will provide a much needed, immediate, long term solution to the residents of Flint.
Additionally, the funds donated will be used to provide health resources to Flint residents who now find themselves affected by lead poisoning, due to the water crisis at hand. concerns of their members and community who have already been affected by lead poisioning. 100% of donations raised here will be given to Bethel United Methodist Church of Flint in care of Pastor Faith Green Timmons.
My ask is that we rally together to provide a financial donation to this church, as well as to keep Pastor Timmons and her congregation in our prayers. Our donation of our $5,000 goal will enable the church to purchase water filters for 300 families in their congregation and community.
In the event that you don't feel comfortable making a monetary donation, you can send filters to the church. Please keep in mind that only the PUR & Brita filters that filter lead will work. If you decide to go that route, below is the mailing address to the church.
