Internship: Crossroads Church, EDI

Dear Family and Friends,
I am asking for your help and support as I pursue the plans God has laid out for me in Summer 2017. After many conversations and moments of prayerful consideration, I have accepted an internship with Crossroads Church in Scotland. I am excited to see what God will teach me in this new environment. I trust that He will make this happen and am currently taking the action necessary to live abroad for several weeks.
What Is It:
I will be working as an intern at Crossroads Church in Edinburgh, Scotland. I will help the church in whatever way they need me. A big part of my internship will be planning (and then attending) a mission trip to Southeast Asia. I will spend my days shadowing and being discipled by Pastor Tom Fraley. I will also participate in evangelism throughout the city. I want to spend time developing relationships with locals. My days will be slower and drastically less busy. I am excited to get to know God better through this time and serve his kingdom. If you would like to know more about the church, then you can follow this link.
What Donations Help Pay For:
For the first half (the majority) of my trip I will be living in Edinburgh. Expenses include my flight, my flat, and my daily needs (like food and bus tickets). This part of the trip comes to $3,130. The second half of the trip I will be on mission in Southeast Asia. This should cost about $1370, which will cover the flight and any on the ground expenses. It is difficult to give an exact amount since plane tickets have not been purchased yet. I will then return to Edinburgh for several days before coming back and starting my Junior year at Georgia College where I am currently majoring in English.
When:
My mission will span eight weeks. I will be leaving the third week of June and returning the second week of August. My trip to Southeast Asia has not yet been scheduled, but should occur near the end of July. I could not be more excited to give this time to God and witness what He will do with it.
Why I Want To Go:
For some time, I have felt the need to serve God, to give him my time. I do this in my daily life, but I have felt Him pulling me towards something bigger than that. "Oceans" by Hillsong United began to hold new meaning to me, "Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders/ Let me walk upon the waters/ Wherever You would call me." My constant prayer was that God would reveal his plan to me. After weeks of this, I decided to go hear Annie Downs speak at Wesley. During her speech she talked about the mission work she had done in Scotland. My heart leapt. It suddenly seemed silly for me to be viewing the two as separate entities. Annie pointed me towards Crossroads Church.
"Oceans" goes on to say "So I will call upon Your name/ And keep my eyes above the waves/ When oceans rise/ My soul will rest in Your embrace/ For I am Yours and You are mine." This is new territory for me. I have to trust that God will provide for and protect me. God is in control not me. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of the verses I have been dwelling on throughout this process. In the same way I have clung to Matthew 5:16 and Mark 16:15. God is a good, good father and I cannot wait to see his plans for me carried out.
I want to live my life for the glory of God's kingdom. I want to devote my summer entirely to God's mission and work. I am eagerly anticipating this new adventure.
