Beth's Journey: Overcoming Hardship Together
Donation protected
My name is Beth. I am a single mother to 2 amazing kids and 2 ornery pups. I have religiously worked 2 jobs (12 days on, 2 days off (weekends with my kids)) for the past 2 years, so I was very much dependent on the 2nd income to be able to take care of my kids and our home.
I abruptly had my hours from my second job taken from me, without any notification at that. I was being told I would be getting the hours back the following month, which did not happen.
With all this going on, I found out I lost my Medicaid due to making $250.00 too much with just my full-time job. I had just recently started seeing a therapist and got back on meds for my mental health. Without Medicaid, I will now have to pay for insurance in order to receive the care that I need. This is not something I can afford without my 2nd income, so I will no longer be able to get my meds.
My son's 13th birthday came and went, and I still have not been able to give him his gift.
My washing machine went out... can't afford to get it fixed or replace it.
One of my pups hurt herself. I was hoping that it would pass in a couple of days, but it hasn't. I don't have the money to take her to the vet.
I am getting behind on my bills, now two months behind on my rent. Christmas is coming, and I can't seem to get back on my feet.
Kids and I had been saving up to take a little trip, but we had to cash it in just to get groceries, necessities, and whatever else.
I am not one to ask for help, but I have no other choice at this time. I am actively looking for another 2nd job, but despite my best efforts, it does not help us right now.
