Sponsor The Future of VR Technology

Technology has continued to grow at an exponential rate, going from being a simple tool to now an integral part of our daily functional lives. Starting from a young age I've always wished to live in a time where there were robots, artificial intelligence and true Virtual Reality.

As of 2016, I can say confidently that we are living in that "future" but there's still room for growth.

Now I know many of you (over $1 billion worth) have seen at least 1 movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and gawked at the amazing technology that Tony Stark utilizes. We've all marveled (pun intended) at how Tony creates and utilizes this holographic technology as the platform for his creative process.

This technology was deemed as only "Movie Magic" until now. Enter Microsoft's Hololens!

When I first saw this technology I won't lie my mind was blown, and the more I researched I knew this was the creative platform I've been waiting for my whole life. A true integration of the virtual realm and the physical.

I signed up immediately and poured my heart and soul into Microsoft's Hololens developer application sharing with them my first idea; creating a Virtual Universe that you could manuveur through. Needless to say I wasn't the only one with this idea and Microsoft responded by delivering the foundation for this, enter Microsoft's Galaxy Explorer.

Nothing felt better than seeing an idea, your idea, come to fruition. That was until February 29th, 2016 when I got the email from Microsoft stating:

This email was like my golden ticket to Willy Wonker's factory only to find out the blueberry gum was a bit sour. Being approved was the first part of the process, the second was actually paying for the development kit which is $3000. This wouldn't be a problem until I realized that Wave 1 starts shipping March 30th.

Meaning that I would have the pay for the Hololens before then (Microsoft has yet to send the payment link but could send it at any time) which wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that I never planned for this to happen (rarely anyone plans for life to happen). But I don't have the budgetary means to make $3000 appear like Holographic magic.

But the Hololens bug has bit me and I realized I needed to do everything in my power to make this happen. I've pooled my resources together to help fund the future, my future in VR development. This has lead me to humbly ask for your help.

I currently have multiple ideas that I'm in the process of drafting and acquiring the necessary information for, starting with the expansion of Microsoft's Galaxy Explorer application to include the totality of the Universe. No small task, but someone with Tony Stark's technology can't complain about what's too big or too small. Of course, I wouldn't be mentioning Tony Stark so much without having an idea I'm sure any Marvel fan would appreciate but as the saying goes "we'll cross that bridge when we get there!"

My penultimate goal is to share the experience with everyone and anyone who helps makes this dream a (virtual) reality! More details to come as the campaign continues. I whole-heartedly appreciate your consideration for even taking the time to read through this and you deserve even more than that for sharing and/or going as far as contributing towards my dream.

Thank you and I hope and wish each and everyone of you the best! And as DJ Khaled would put it,
