Baby Bettie Lou is in trouble and needs our help!
Seth and Rachel Waddington added a beautiful baby girl Bettie Lou to their little family May 25th.
Rachel was admitted into Sanford Hospital on the 24th after her water broke a month before her due date. Everything was looking good and baby was doing great, so they decided to induce her. The labor went well and Rachel had Bettie naturally at 5:16 am Friday morning.
We were all so relieved our little baby girl was nice and healthy! She weighed 6.9 lbs and was 20 inches long! Her heart rate, blood sugar and temp was all good. She was crying nice and her oxygen was fine. They had her hooked up to monitors to monitor her oxygen saturation levels, so we could make sure her little lungs were doing ok.
Shortly after birth nurse said she developed some minor labored breathing. Because of this, she was placed in the Sanford Bismarck Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
She has made steady improvement since then, and today she is a pink and healthy little girl, requiring little to no support beyond her loving parent's care.
Unfortunately, a serious breakdown of communication has occurred as Rachel and Seth's parental rights were illegally challenged again and again as facts were misrepresented and outright lies were told in an attempt to protect little Bettie from her parents.
Because of his efforts to shield Rachel from unnecessary stress and anxiety, Seth has been unfairly characterized as a possibly abusive husband and father, and this has resulted in temporary custody being awarded to Grant County social services.
Because of this egregious overstep of state authority and outright attack on parental rights, Seth and Rachel are now fighting a legal battle for the custody of their baby when they should be recuperating and celebrating a new member of their family and a little sister for Flora.
Significant medical and now legal expenses are mounting for this precious family causing great stress during an already extremely trying time.
Seth and Rachel need our help. Please help us get Baby Bettie back to her parents and home where she belongs!
