Betty G. Pittman

My name is Carlene Burge and " Betty" is a Blessing to know and have in this Life's Journey as a Friend. I am posting this for Prayer Request and any Assistance you would consider for her at this Critical time. “Betty” Pittman has lived and served her community and neighbors in the Supply / Shallotte areas for over 30 years. She has volunteered, supported and helped personally with anyone in need. She has volunteered with Hospice, Christian Rehab, Homeless Missions, and Community Food Banks. She has been an In-Home and Hospital Care Giver for over 15 years. She is an active Member of Beulah Baptist Church of Calabash supporting the Youth Outreach Programs. “Betty” has always been Giving and Faithful with such a big heart.

“Betty” was faced with Cancer in 2019, during the Covid Threat, she was in and out of Hospitals with a portion of Kidney removed. She has continued to date with major conditions and hospitalization. Her Acute aggressive Breast Cancer was diagnosed earlier this year. Her Pacemaker has complicated her conditions and with Treatments has compromised her Immune System causing her body to shut down and depletions having to continue with hospital stays and IVs. Her condition became critical, and a Second Evaluation and Doctors was necessary, being referred to Duke Hospital. This Treatment Plan requires travel each time, hospital stay, new Labs for return before continuing the same treatment. With this type of Chemo and Labs treatments, Radiation Treatments are scheduled. Radiation Treatments will be from 6 to 8 weeks requiring travel and hospital stays at Duke Hospital.

Even with all she is going through she has maintained a good spirit and a big smile for all. This last year has been a real battle and struggle for her to get back and forth to Duke for these Treatments. Each treatment travels, a driver, overnight expenses are not reimbursed.

Please lift her name in “Prayer” for “God’s Healing and Strength”. If any considerations to assist with any dollar amount, “Betty” and family will be indebted in heart.
