Betty Layward is Running the 2024 Hackney Half Marathon!

On Saturday 18th May, 67 Betty Layward children and 11 of their parents/carers will run the final leg of the Hackney Half Marathon at the school's challenge at Hackney Marshes. They have been running a mile a week at school for 12 weeks, so this last mile completes their half marathon!

On Sunday 19th May, 15 parents and carers will be running the full half marathon to raise funds for our school!

Last year, we ran for Project Renovate, our mission to raise funds to redecorate the upper floor of our school. We raised over £15K towards the £60K needed, which was incredible and helped create more beautiful spaces for the children to learn.

This year we are running to finish the works done last year but also for our lovely new solar panels which will bring a fantastic long term saving to the school!

The Hackney Half is a really important part of the fundraising effort for the school so please dig deep and support Betty Layward Primary School!

We know times are difficult for many and that many people will be unable to donate, but for those who are able, please give what you can, to support the brilliant children running on Saturday, and the adults, parents and carers taking part in the Hackney Half on Sunday!

Please remember to select GiftAid if you are a UK taxpayer and be careful of the 'optional' tip as that does not go to the school! You can delete the tip so that only your/ their donation is what you/ they are charged.
