Betty's Birthday Bonanza - 2024, Fostering Hope Packages

Life is filled with positive moments and hardships, bright lights and dark chapters, clarity and confusion. I'm incredibly grateful for all the high highs and low lows because it's made me more appreciative for where I am today. It's important for me to spread joy, give back, and be of service to others - so I am starting my own annual birthday tradition called "Betty's Birthday Bonanza." The goal each year will be to raise money for a charity of my choice, and the final $$ amount will be used for a monetary gift or actual items to donate for the organization.

This year, I would like to donate 10 Fostering Hope packages for the Kids Matter organization in Milwaukee. Many abused and neglected children enter foster care with little more than the clothes on their backs. A Fostering Hope package gives a child something to call their own while waiting for a placement.

The money raised will be used to assemble duffel bags/backpacks filled with items such as toiletries, journals, pajamas, socks, books, toys, stuffed animals, etc. I hope to raise $1000 so I can put together 10 thoughtful bags worth $100 each. For those who donate, I will send you a full list and pictures of the bags in early September (after my birthday) so you can see what items were purchased.
