The latest update on Ebonie:

Monday March 20th Ebonie had a heart transplant, after it was determined her heart was not healing on its own. She is definitely a fighter and was awake and talking before she went down to surgery. She has a very long recovery from the surgery and then at least a year of specialist follow-ups at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Thank you for your continued support and prayers!

Hi everyone! Thank you for all of the support, orayers, and shares. I know Beverly and Ebonie appreciate it immensely! Here is the most recent update:
Ebonie was placed at the top of the transplant list to get a new heart. I do not know much about transplants but I do know they do still have a long road ahead with recovery. Please consider donating or just sharing. Thank you all again!!

good morning everyone! Here is the latest update from Beverly:

I was able to get into the Ronald McDonald house, which was such a blessing with the space to sleep and shower, as well as meals. Ebonie is fighting and showing all of the doctors and nurses her strength. But she is going to have a long road ahead of her once we figure out her initial care plan and then recovery. I would like to thank everybody for their support and prayers during this most difficult time in our lives.

Hi everyone, you have been so awesome in donating money for the meal train for Beverly to eat while she is at the hospital with Ebonie. Now comes the hard part, paying the medical bills and helping Beverly while she is not able to work.

As most of you know, Ebonie suffered a heart attack on Tuesday. She was at track practice and started to not feel good and went to see the trainers. She passed out and with the quick thinking of the trainers, they started CPR. They had to use a defibrillator to try to restart her heart. She was then transported to Dayton Children's and had to be shocked a total of 7x by the time she got there. Upon arriving at Children's, it was determined she needed to be transferred to Cincinnati Children's. Ebonie was Careflighted down to
Cincinnati where she received a heart cath and was found to have 2 blockages in her heart. Ebonie was then transferred to UC Medical where they specialize in treating blockages of the LAD. Doctors were able to clear one of the blockages in her heart, but there was still a second they could not clear. The second blockage was in place for at least 30 hours before it was discovered. It is unclear what damage if any, Ebonies heart sustained.

Ebonie had what is called a Widowmaker heart attack, a heart attack in which you have a full blockage of the left anterior descending artery (LAD). She is currently on ECMO to try and give her heart and lungs some much-needed rest. The next few days will determine if she improves on her own or if an internal heart pump will be needed. They are anticipating being in the hospital for the next at least 4 weeks.

As you can see, the medical bills for the ambulance rides and Careflight will be astronomical on their own, not to mention the hospital stay. I have paused the meal train for now and all donations can be added here to help support Beverly with the medical bills as well as help her while she is out of work. Thank you all for all of the support and donations, I know Beverly appreciates it beyond words.
