Beyond FIT Africa

Beyond Fearless Inspired by Truth (Beyond F.I.T) is a nonprofit organization established to address childhood obesity, aid in the development of non-arts based skills,and promote health and fitness in the community. Our mission is to motivate the community to pursue wholeness of the mind, body, and spirit.

Since our founding in 2018, we have expanded our reach from the adult fitness community to arts based programming and youth and community fitness. Beyond F.I.T. has served 100 youth in the last three years in Baltimore,MD, and Philadelphia, PA while creating positive impacts on their academic achievement, fitness, arts expression, and social development.

We are so excited about how far we have come and our next phase of programming! As we enter this next phase of Beyond F.I.T. we once again have the opportunity to serve a broader community - the children of Ogun State, Nigeria - with the establishment of Beyond F.I.T. Africa.

Beyond FIT Africa will offer fitness and performing arts classes covering ballet, drama, modern, and fit & fun to 60 children ages 7 to 15 located in impoverished communities of Nigeria. The program is designed to revive hope, build confidence, cultivate their talents, and inspire the children to achieve greatness. One of the program coordinators Mr. Joshua stated on his recent visit:

“ I was able to visit the community today to get more information about the OGUN STATE ,and some part of their communities. Actually, some children have no parents and while some are with single parents children and some are with parents but poor. No health center ( hospitals) and no good maternity homes. No other activities out of secular education for the children to keep them going. This our program could help the children in their mind set for a better future.”

We know the need is great, and in the midst of a pandemic children in low income areas have taken the brunt of the effects of isolation, lack of connectivity, reduced education access, and social emotional supports. Beyond F.I.T. Africa will fill this gap for the children of Ogun State, Nigeria as we have for the children of Baltimore, but we need your support.

We are fundraising $3000 to cover equipment, including a projector, laptop, and screen, Zoom fees, and instructor cost. Sponsor one child for $50 or donate more to support overall programming. Your support will ensure our children here and abroad know they are loved, cherished, and not forgotten by their community.
