Beyond Shelter: helping Ukrainians to survive
This page is now closed. But the Shelter Project is ongoing. For those interested in making a donation you can contribute directly through the paywall to Eurasia Foundation, a network partner 501c3.
This page was made in partnership with the East Europe Foundation, by an individual who helped to establish the foundation in 2008.
About the project:
Since the beginning of the war, East Europe Foundation (EEF) has assisted people who have been forcibly displaced, as well as those remaining in besieged cities who continue to suffer from ongoing aggression.
As of May 2022, EEF provided aid to an estimated 65,000 Ukrainians. EEF helped establish 30 shelters for internally displaced persons and transferred 217 tons of humanitarian aid to 15 different regions of the country. Hospitals, shelters, dormitories, and other beneficiaries have been provided food, clothing, household items, and personal hygiene products. More information can be found in the Shelter Project interim report here.
The Shelter Project was also one of the first to reach the newly-liberated areas around Kyiv and other regions.
Other Shelter Project activities and initiatives include:
Providing aid to those who were affected by the hostilities, securing livelihoods for internally displaced persons, and helping integrate into host communities.
Support and supervision of a network of hospitality stations where people will be able to get food, fresh water, medicines, and other necessities.
Grants to non-governmental organizations that provide humanitarian assistance to displaced people locally.
Your personal contribution can support these activities.
