Barry "Bezzie" Benezra Fund

UPDATE:  It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you all that Barry "Bezzie" Benezra passed away this morning.  There truly are no words to do this justice.  Bezzie was a rare man, a light in the window, a gift to all who knew him.  We are all blessed to have shared in his life and been happier because of it.    

And even though he is no longer with us physically, certain sad truths still exist in our World.  The cost of his care was significant during his hospital stay, and many procedures and meds  WERE NOT covered by insurance.  THE BENEZRAS CONTINUE TO NEED HELP.  COVID19  effectively shutdown the World and the bills just keep growing.  If you have already given, we thank you; if you have not yet had the chance to contribute, please take a moment and share your good fortune.  And if you have the wherewithal, please consider a second donation.

This gofundme is to support the medical bills, final resting, and living expenses associated with Barry 'Bezzie' Benezra, as well as his family during this impossible time. Please remember his loving wife, beautiful daughters, his brother and sister, and their extended families.  Love never fails.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Rest in peace, Bezzie - we will all meet again.

Bezzie played an important role in all of our lives, helping us move from point A to point B with love, support, advice, and loud jokes, all served with a side of amazing chow.  His wife and children have been part of our family going on 35 years, and now it's our turn to pay it forward.  

We put a $1 target on this fund because GoFundMe requires all efforts have a target dollar figure.  In this particular case, though, there is no value that could begin to approximate what the Benezras are worth to all of us.  Whether you have known Bezzie since the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, or today, I encourage all of you to participate.  Please reach into your hearts, then your pockets, and give them what you would give to family.  (Better yet, give them more than you would give to family).

All funds raised will be 100% dedicated to eliminating any costs associated with Barry's illness, as well as defraying living expenses encountered after he leaves the hospital.  Contributions will go directly to Kathy to disperse in the service of these debts.
