Road to recovery

Welcome to Dustin, Ashley and Tillie's page. Never in my life would I ever think I would starting one of these pages for my family, but people keep asking how can they help so we want to give people as many options as they are comfortable with as this is going to be a very long road for us so here we are. This will be used to help ease the stress of medical and travel expenses /and time off of work so that we can put all of our focus into the path of recovery.

As some may know already Dustin had an accident on the farm this past Thursday morning December 15th. While at the top of 1.5 story ladder he got dizzy and fainted, falling quite a long way and landed on his neck and back. Ashley was there holding the ladder, and was able to call for help right away. He was rushed to Hershey Medical center where they found 4 broken ribs, a lacerated sleen, some internal bleeding and a T-10 fracture of his spine resulting in a spinal cord injury. He had surgery that night and they were able to stabilize his spine and his internal bleeding. Dustin has an extremely long road to recovery as he is currently paralyzed from the waist down and will required extensive inpatient rehab mostly likely in Philadelphia so lots of family travel which we will happily do to get him the best care. We all know Dustin well, and if anyone can get through this he can as he is already begging to work with physical therapy. He has his family to support him and he can’t wait to hold his little Tillie Mae again. We are all rooting for him!
