You're Not Alone Suicide Awareness

The mission of the 'You're Not Alone' event is to break the stigma around suicide and show those who are affected by mental health and suicide 'You're Not Alone' - don't be ashamed! Stand up! Open up! Share your story! Because, you're not alone.....
Together we can smash the stigma around suicide and mental health. It's not a taboo subject, so talk about it. It's time the community stopped being quiet. There is strength in numbers, so come together and speak up together. We need to change the way people view and talk about both mental health and suicide. The only way to do that is to get loud! Mental health and suicide affects many people from all walks of life, all professions, all demographics and all races. No one is immune to it and sweeping it under the carpet and pretending it's not there will not solve anything and it certainly won't save lives!
The purpose of this event is to bring people together, to show those who need to know first hand they're not alone, to have some fun while fund raising for local 'non for profit' organisation dedicated to suicide prevention.
It's time as a community we showed our community what services are available and where to go for support. If you're affected by mental health, survivor of suicide or bereaved by suicide - there are support groups, we just need to open up about them. We need to promote the importance of self care and reaching out for mental wellbeing. Don't ever feel ashamed. We all have a story, so let's share them!
