Charlee's Angels

On November 30th, 2020 our brother Timmy and his wife Maggie welcomed their beautiful baby daughter, Charlotte Siena Bax into this world.  As any parent knows, the instant love Timmy and Maggie had for Charlotte was immense, however, unlike most new births they weren’t allowed to be with their baby.  Charlotte fell into the 1% of babies born with a congenital heart defect and to make matters worse, her case is very complex.

Charlotte (or Charlee as this beautiful baby girl has been dubbed) has numerous complications with her heart that will take multiple surgeries and lengthy recoveries to improve.  Her first open heart surgery was less than 48 hours after being born and her next one will take place in approximately 3 months with another at 18 months.  These are just the surgeries they know about now as unfortunately a case this complex comes with many unknowns.

Charlee and her parents have been in the hospital since November 30th and will remain there through the next surgery.  While the care and accommodations provided by Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House have helped ease the burden on Timmy and Maggie, the looming hospital bills and Maggie being unable to work while she goes through this journey side by side with Charlee will be difficult to overcome.

Timmy and Maggie are two of the hardest working people we know and they are always the ones offering help – not asking for it.  So we decided to do it on their behalf.  We understand that the global pandemic has impacted just about everyone in one way or another so if you are not in any position to donate, please do not worry about it at all.  If you can share this post with someone who may be in position to help out and keep Maggie, Timmy, and sweet Charlee in your prayers that will be greatly appreciated by all of us.
