Prostate Cancer Awareness Walk & Family Event

We are blessed to be gearing up for 2nd annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Walk and Family Event. My name David Moffett, a man of great faith, devoted husband, loving father, joyous grandfather, and a Combat Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. My mission and purpose has be to work with the intentionality to impact the lives of many men and their support systems. During my journey as a prostate cancer survivor and advocate, I have been blessed to have created an in-person support group (D-Moff Prostate Cancer Support Group 50+ men), as well as moderating and leading ZERO’s (Atlanta, GA) in-person Black/Brown Men’s support group. My “real talk” approach has encouraged participants to advocate for themselves, seek connections, and discuss how this disease has impacted them spiritually, mentally, and physically. In 2021, I created a non-profit organization “Courage & Strength to Fight, Inc.” to increase prostate cancer awareness with a focus on increasing the conversations and the awareness in Black and Latino communities. I was humbled and honored to have been selected as the finalist and winner for the State of Georgia 2022 March of Dimes “Hero in Action/Friends of a Nurse” award for this important work and advocacy in the community. I also have been asked to serve on the Georgia Prostate Cancer Roundtable as the Co-Lead of the Education Workgroup. Just know that your prayers and your financial donations will allow us to continue to have this annual event, and continue to support our different platforms (Early detection PSA screenings, Family medical history conversations, safe space for support groups, Encouraging men to go to the doctor for annual physical).
