BGS Rowing Super 8s Challenge 2021

Donation protected
After the resounding success of the inaugural 2019 24-hour ergo, Bedford Girls School crews were looking forward to testing their stamina again in 2021 - but once again Covid has got in the way. So instead of 24 hours of rowing, we have the Super 8s Challenge:

On Saturday 4th December, the girls will exercise non stop for 8 hours, in teams of 8, completing 8 different activities:
-    Rowing– 2 ergos continuously for distance
-    Cycling – 2 watt bikes continuously for distance
-    Running -  minimum of 2 people running continuously for distance
-    Circuits – continuous 8 hour circuit
-    Dancing – minimum of 2 people continuously dancing
-    Yoga – continuous 8 hour yoga session
-    Skipping – minimum of 2 skipping ropes continuously
-    Ball Skills – the ball has to stay in the air for 8 hours

Rowing continues to be popular at BGS, with crews eagerly participating in this year's competitions after the disruption caused by covid and bad weather over the past two years. The Friends of BGS Boat Club exists to support the girls - both on the riverbank and by fundraising. We raise funds for new boats which will serve the girls well for years, as well as for essential performance enhancing kit such as stroke meters and cox boxes.
