Dustin's Medical Bills\After Care
Donation protected
Dustin was involved in a house fire in Detroit, Michigan. During which he sustained worse than 3rd degree burns on 80% of his body.
Dustin will need debridement on all of his wounds, then temporary xeno-grafts will be applied to the wounds until his skin grafts are grown from his stem cells. He will later need permanent skin grafts on all 80% of the burned area using the grown grafts. He will also need major rehabilitation and then after care living with his family maybe for the rest of his life.
He will need to stay in the hospital full time for 7 to 18 months during these treatments.
These funds would be used to pay for any treatment, physical therapy, and other rehabilitation costs. They would also go a long way to allow family who are spread out over the country to visit him in the hospital during his long road ahead.
"This is my brother whom I am very close with. He will need long term care after he is released from the hospital and he will also be quite disfigured with grafts almost everywhere. I fear for his mental state after treatment and him living alone afterwards terrifies me. I really want to build a studio apartment above my garage so that he could live there after he is released and could have his own space free from financial worries while also being close to me, my wife, and his 4 nieces and nephews. Any funds not used in the above description will be used towards this end. My brother loves children and I fear he will now never have any of his own so getting him out to Colorado and around my 4 children is very important." Jason Sturm (SDG)
