In Memory of Michael Pierce

Donation protected
A lot of people have been asking if they can help or contribute in any way.

As one of Michael Pierce’s best friends, I am doing this on my own behalf. Michael’s family did not ask me to do this. If I can put together anything to help the Pierce family during this difficult time, I know he would do the same for me. No amount is too small to help limit the heart ache and burden his family is going through at this time.

Michael Pierce was a gentle and kind soul.

The way he moved and the way he spoke was calm, slow and calculated. He never rushed in anything he did. He gave everyone and everything he touched his complete undivided attention.

He was bad at telling funny stories because he could never speak ill of anyone. He was bad at telling people “no” and probably did one favor too many in his life. He would go above and beyond for anyone he met. If you asked him to do you a favor in court he would prioritize his whole day around that favor and never complained – even if he got stuck past lunch.

Michael never got angry and never got stressed. If you had a bad day at work, you wanted to call Michael to hear his calm and reassuring voice. He always made you feel better.

He went to church every Sunday. He loved Marvel Comics, video games, a nice hot cup of coffee, and would never say no to a good meal. He was also extremely passionate about his love for criminal law. While the average person looks forward to vacations and trips, Michael’s highlight was the Criminal Law Conference every year.

Michael Pierce was an amazing lawyer and an amazing friend. My heart aches knowing that I won’t hear his voice or see him pitter pattering down the Newmarket court halls with his million dollar smile from ear to ear. Rest in peace my friend.

Update: Gofund me has asked me to update the page with the following details. For those who do not know me, I was Michael Pierce's friend and colleague.  We worked together at my criminal law firm for the past few years. The funds accumulated will go directly to the Pierce family. Patricia Pierce, Michael's mother, is the beneficiary of the campaign. I've been in direct contact with her since Michael's passing.
The funds will help with funeral costs, any after-life arrangements and to help support Michael's family during their time of grieving. Before Michael passed away, he was financially supporting his parents and his autistic twin brother Clifford who lives with them.
