The Ceramic Lighthouse, Portsoy

The Ceramic Lighthouse currently on display at Portsoy Harbour is owned by the cancer charity CLAN and will be auctioned in October to raise money for the charity. The Community of Portsoy, wish to bid for the lighthouse.

Many in our community have expressed a desire to bid for and retain The Ceramic Lighthouse in Portsoy.

It is therefore proposed that a fundraising exercise be undertaken, to allow a strong bid to be placed and to pay for planning permissions
and installation costs (estimated at around £500).

If the bid is successful a (hopefully) short consultation will take place between the Community of Portsoy and Aberdeenshire Council
Planning Department to establish where the Lighthouse can be installed. It may not be possible or desirable to install the lighthouse at its
current location.

Should the bid fail, or if more money is raised than is needed to buy and install the lighthouse, then all the money (or the surplus money)
will be split equally between CLAN, Portsoy 75 Club and Portsoy Thrift Shop. The latter two can be relied on to distribute the money to 
benefit local good causes. In short, it is a win win situation for our community.

Portsoy 75 Club have agreed to hold all the donations in a dedicated audit-able bank account. They will also administer the bidding
process and place any bids on behalf of Our Community.
