Big Bear Black Lab With Broke Leg

On Wednesday, May 27, I was at the Big Bear Animal Pound pulling out a dog that was supposed to be killed hours before. When I was there to pick up the dog, I noticed a black lab type dog who I was told had a broke leg. The leg is very swollen. The dog has been given pain medication. Over my years of volunteering with animal rescue in Big Bear, I've picked up that the pound doesn't spend over $50 on helping an animal medically. I might not be 100% right on that but it was told to me by a reliable source years ago. When I saw this dog with a broken leg, I knew we would have to act fast. I'm good at sounding the alarm bell but I'm not rich so I can't solve all of these type of issues for our animals in Big Bear. I'm not a doctor but I'm guessing this doctor's bill will easily reach $1200 or more. We have to think just about examines, possible surgery, medications, etc. We need to do ALL we can so the supervisors at Big Bear know this dog will be taken care of if they don't kill the dog. So, it's important we pledge $$$ to save this dog's life. As many of you know, I rarely ask for pledges or support for our animals. I know that $$$ is going to be the only thing that keeps this dog alive in the short-term and ultimately heals this dog. Will you be a hero and give $5 or more dollars? I know we all have bills and worries but it's times like these that we give to HOPE for a better tomorrow. We need and want a better tomorrow and by inspiring our community we can get there. Please help this dog today. I will forward ALL of the contributions directly to the care facility that helps this dog. If so some reason the pound kills this dog, I will use this money on my animal rescue activities in Big Bear. I am going to do everything I know to do to keep this dog alive but right now...we need to give.
