Big Heart - Patrick Holland's Heart Transplant

Hello, my name is Haley. My husband, Patrick Holland, received his heart transplant on March 30th, 2023, after waiting for nearly four months on the University Of Washington Heart transplant donor list. Patrick has been living in Seattle since January 12th, working part time as a caregiver while the kids and I remained in Alaska.

We flew down to Seattle on March 31st, landing on the tarmac at 7:00am, just in time to receive an update call from the surgeon as Patrick's transplant was completed. We intend to stay until he is more mobile and he and I feel comfortable with the kids and I returning to life in Alaska for a while. Then in a few weeks we will return for a visit when he is discharged to the UW Transplant House.
