Help Jindabyne Keep a Piece of Art That Celebrates Our Alpine Spirit!
Jindabyne's Lake Light Sculpture Festival is one of the most magical times of year — an inclusive and immersive celebration of art set against the breathtaking beauty of Lake Jindabyne. Each sculpture tells a story, and this year, one piece truly captures the heart and heritage of our beloved town: The Big Chair Lift.
This striking sculpture perfectly frames Jindabyne’s rich ski-town history and our vibrant alpine lifestyle. Sitting proudly on the foreshore, it feels as though it was made for this place — a beacon for locals and visitors alike, and a stunning tribute to the 'Altitude' energy that defines our community.
The Jindabyne Chamber of Commerce is spearheading an effort to purchase this piece on behalf of the entire community — a lasting gift for everyone who loves this town, from long-time residents to first-time visitors.
We believe the Big Chair Lift (by Darragh Walsh who is the picture) has the power to become a cherished landmark and an iconic photo spot, offering everyone the chance to take home a piece of Jindabyne’s unique spirit.
But we need your help to make it happen!
Whether you’re a local, a Skier, Snowboarder, Mountain Biker, Hiker, or someone who simply loves the Snowy Mountains, your contribution will help us secure this sculpture for the town. Together, let’s ensure this stunning piece of art remains part of Jindabyne’s story — for today, for tomorrow, and for generations to come.
Donate today and be part of creating a new Jindabyne icon!
If we reach our target this long weekend it shall remain in place on the foreshore of Lake Jindabyne. If we raise more than our target the excess monies will be used for art installations around the lake that contribute and reflect our towns rich history.
