Big Sur Marathon for Cristo Rey OC High School

On April 30th, I will run the Big Sur Marathon in support of Cristo Rey Orange County High School, a new school in Santa Ana, CA opening in August.

Cristo Rey Orange County will empower students with limited economic resources to fulfill their aspirations for a lifetime of success. Although a new school, it is part of a proven national model. The Cristo Rey Network of high schools delivers a career-focused, college preparatory education for students with limited means, uniquely integrating rigorous academic curricula with four years of professional work experience and support to and through college.

As a first-generation college student from a working-class family, I deeply relate to the challenges facing many similar households today. Access to a quality education in a supportive community is life-changing and its benefits compound for generations.
