Get Good Sam's Truck Back (Repairs)
Tax deductible
The Good Samaritan Center in Jackson, Mississippi is in need of your help. Our one and ONLY donation pick-up and delivery truck broke down and we had to find out what was going on.
Who knew that we would have to get the engine rebuilt to the tune of $13, 621.07!! This is with a $850 deduction for labor cost on the repair. We love Mike Saxton for helping us out!
We have been without our truck for over one month. This causes The Good Samaritan Center, a charity that helps families with very basic needs, like food and clothing, to be unable to fully serve our clients.
We have been unable to do donation pick-up of clothing, but more importantly food.
Each week, The Good Samaritan Center receives pallets of food from The Mississippi Food Network in order to help feed families in the process of applying for SNAP benefits. Without our truck, we have been unable to pick up this food for the last month! We are on empty and on average serve about 250 individuals per month with food!
We are now reaching out to the gofundme community to help us get our big truck repaired so that we can help hungry families in need.
Our truck should hopefully be finished within a few weeks, but we would like as much help as we can get to help us off set this cost.
I have worked for the Good Samaritan Center for over 9 years, and we have NEVER had a major repair like this one.
I work in a variety of ways at the Center, one of which is as a case manager talking to families in need. It breaks my heart to not be able to help as many as we could with our truck down. I will start us off with a donation, it is small, since I work at a non-profit. : ) But together, I believe we can do this!
Bless you for your help!
