Big Walk For Little Hearts
Donation protected
Jodie and I are due to have our third child, Louis, in November and he has been diagnosed with HLHS. A rare and very serious heart defect. Children born with this require 3 open heart surgeries in the first few years of their life and there is about a 60% survival rate. We could enjoy many years with him or maybe just a few hours. The future is all a little uncertain.
Sadly there are other families who are in the same situation as us and so Stuart and I will be completing a 100km, 3 day charity walk along the Cornish coast to raise funds for Little Hearts Matter and the Love For Louis fundraiser. Any money raised will be split equally.
I think it is safe to say that of the different positions on the rugby field, props are generally not known for their athletic prowess - so for both of us to do 100km in 3 days will be a challenge. Especially as we will start to see shorter daylight time and the weather will be getting colder and wetter.
We are starting on the 24th October from St Michaels Mount walking towards Land’s End. From there we head along the north coast going past Gwithian before finally heading inland to Barripper finishing at the St Michaels Inn on Monday 26th.
We have set up a fundraising page here specifically for our walk. We appreciate people have been extremely generous with contributions to the Love For Louis page but if there is anyone else who would like to sponsor us it would be greatly appreciated
