Support the Fight against Bill 21 in Quebec

We need your support to fight Bill 21!

Quebec’s Bill 21 infringes on fundamental freedoms and human rights by prohibiting individuals from wearing religious symbols such as the hijab, turban, or kippah if they work in certain public service positions.

The impact of Bill 21 has already been felt.

Amrit Kaur, a practicing Sikh who wears a dastaar (turban) as a part of her faith, wanted to be a teacher in Quebec. After the passage of Bill 21 she was forced to leave her home and move to British Columbia to pursue her profession.

Fatemeh Anvari was an elementary school teacher in Chelsea, Quebec who was told that she could no longer teach her Grade 3 class because she wears a hijab.

There are many other examples.

Bill 21 effectively creates second class citizenship and has a discriminatory impact on individuals based on their identity – including their gender and religion.

Bill 21 is a threat to our fundamental rights and freedoms. That’s why your solidarity and support are so important at this time. This is a fight all Canadians need to get behind!

The World Sikh Organization of Canada(WSO), National Canadian Council of Muslims (NCCM), and Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA) are working tirelessly to defeat this law in court.

Your donation towards the fight against Bill 21 will go towards our legal fight as well as education and awareness efforts about the impact of Bill 21. We are working towards promoting inclusion, diversity, and equity for all Canadians.

Your support ensures that we have the resources to continue our work. We will not rest until the law is struck down. We are dedicated to a future in which every person is free and equal.
