Bill Batman: Gone Too Soon

Hi, my name is Dayne. I'm setting up this fundraiser for our beloved friend Bill Batman who passed away on 9/12/22. He was well loved in the aviation community and will be dearly missed as an Alaska Airlines pilot. This fundraiser is intended to help raise money for funeral costs and any other medical expenses the family will be responsible for.

William "Bill" Batman was diagnosed with Stage IV Gastric Cancer in July, 2020. He had been undergoing cycles of chemotherapy, radiation and immunotherapy treatments since his diagnosis.

Recently, it was discovered that cancer had spread to his brain. He started a cycle of radiation for the brain at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.

The goal was to make Bill as comfortable as possible and hopefully allow him to spend time at home with family and loved ones; however, due to complications and pain control issues, he was not able to return home. He passed away at Providence Hospital in the early morning of September 12, 2022.

Throughout the last two years, he was able to check off "bucket list" items and watch his family grow. He rode motorcycles and went on an epic trip from California to Mexico with his two sons, James and Connor. He celebrated Raquel, James and Carla's college graduations and job certifications. He stood by Helena's side as she excelled in her career and received a promotion. He spent priceless qualitiy time with his youngest son, Connor and his dog, Becker. He also enjoyed visiting with his cousins, and mom, Cathy, in Minnesota.

Bill held his friends in high regard and valued the connections he had made throughout the years. We are thankful for the outpouring of love and support from family, friends and the aviation community.
