Bill Furman's Radiation Treatment
Donation protected
This all started the night of November 24th when my father had a seizure at home. My mother rushed him to the hospital where they were able to do tests. They crossed off things such as low blood pressure, anemic, a stroke, and many other things. When we found out that he tested positive for COVID, I assumed that was the cause of the problem. Turns out that it wasn't. Instead, they found a tumor in his brain.
The Friday following Thanksgiving, my father went through brain surgery to try and remove the tumor. This was when we found out that it was an aggressive form, but we still held out hope. We still do. He eventually came home after recovering, then the waiting process began. They sent his tumor up to Mayo Clinic, but in the end they couldn't figure out where the tumor started.
Last week my father learned that he has something called leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, meaning that the tumor that was removed was quickly replaced by eleven more. This all only happened within the span of four weeks. It's very important that he receive radiation to help rid of the aggressive cancer, because it will give him more time to figure out where the cancer came from and fight it.
This time frame has fallen into two different deductible years for my parents and is a large amount to owe. They need help paying for the bills, so any amount that people can offer is greatly appreciated. If you can't afford to donate, we also greatly appreciate you sharing our story and praying for his healthy recovery.
Much love from his wife Sue, his sons Chris and Luke, his daughter Ashley, his daughter/son in law Mae, Sonny, and Jordan, and from the grandchildren Michael, Echo, and the expected baby Eleanor.
