Bill Slater's Kick Cancer Fund

Hello, please allow me to introduce you to our dear friend, Bill Slater. Bill was our former Pastor - we met more than 30 years ago and have been good friends ever since. Bill & his wife Sissy, live in Pensacola, Florida. Bill was recently diagnosed with an Adenocarcinoma on his face (cheek area), which is attached to his salivary gland and unfortunately the cancer has traveled to his neck, as well as under his left arm; the doctor has labeled Bill's cancer, stage IV. As you can imagine, this diagnosis came at quite a surprise. Bill is only 67 years old and he is the sole provider for his family; and with this unfortunate diagnosis comes the need for intensive therapy. First chemotherapy to slow the cancer from further metastasizing and then immunotherapy to complete the treatment (6 treatments total with a PET scan after 3 treatments and then another PET scan at the end of the 6 treatments to conclude and re-evaluate) and God willing to eradicate the cancer. Bill has already undergone two chemo treatments with a third treatment on April 27th. Bill & Sissy are not in a position to walk this journey out alone - they need help. Their son & daughter-in-law have graciously opened up their home to them so that, Bill & Sissy can move to Virginia where Bill can receive the best of treatment at the John Hopkins Cancer Center. Bill’s cancer is terminal; but by faith, support of his family and friends and the best treatment available - Bill has a Hope that, he can beat this beast called cancer and start anew.
My husband and I recently visited the Slaters and we asked how we could help. They asked for prayers. Of course, we are praying for them, but knowing their circumstances, we understand that, they could desperately use some financial assistance. Bill resigned from work this past week in preparation for his last chemo treatment in Florida and their relocation to Virginia. We would like to help them raise funds to aid them through their move to Virginia, as well as to help them stay afloat financially - as Bill will be out of work and without any source of income. Although they will have a place to stay, they will still have ongoing expenses (car payment, registration, insurance, pharmaceutical, co-pays, etc.) that will need to be covered. We know that, we as a family cannot do this alone, however, collectively, as a community - we can do this together and provide in a way that, we would not otherwise be able to. If you feel it in your heart to assist the Slater's, please give any denomination that you are able - it doesn't matter if it is $1.00 or a $1,000.00 - together, it all adds up to equal a huge Blessing. If you are not able to give monetarily at this time, please do not feel obligated - we only ask for your prayers of support and words of encouragement. Below are Bill’s prayer requests.
Prayer request(s):
-for continued strength to get through the treatments,
-for the remission of cancer growth,
-for quality of life,
-for the ability to finish and publish his book he is working on with possible follow-up items to promote our Lord's promises and faithfulness to all of us - no matter what our physical condition might be.
Psalm 27:1: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" KJV
We thank you in advance; may God richly bless you for your generous heart.
Luke 6:38: “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” KJV
