Help Bill Stacey Fight Cancer

If you have ever been to an Express Oil Change, chances are Bill Stacey helped open it.

Originally from Mobile, AL, Bill moved to Birmingham when he was 18. He is well known in the mechanic industry for his knowledge of all makes and models of cars and for being able to diagnose them just by listening to them! He left Express Oil after opening many, many new locations and went on to work at Chelsea Tire and Service in Chelsea, AL. From there, he partnered with the owners to open Magic City Tire and Service at 3020 Messer Airport Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35203. Magic City Tire opened in August 2022 with immediate success.

In January 2023, Bill went to the doctor because he hadn't been feeling very well. The doctors did an x-ray and immediately scheduled him for other tests and it was then confirmed that Bill had stage 4 adenocarcinoma that began in the esophagus. He will be on chemo for the remainder of his life and at this time his survival rate has been suspected to be anywhere from 1-5 years.

Since then, Bill has had to take a leave from Magic City Tire and Service. He had intense chemo sessions every other Friday, which leaves him extremely tired for several days, on top of infusions and going to MD Anderson in Houston for scans. Although he has insurance, it does not cover nearly the cost of the medical expenses Bill has had to endure. This also includes the medications he is required to take at home.

Bill is a single father with a 17-year-old son, Brayden. Brayden goes to Helena High School and is extremely close to his dad.

To know Bill is to have an immediate friend. Always willing to help you. He is funny and down to earth and is a simple man. He loves to camp and looks forward to hopefully making some short camping trips with his son in the fall.

All funds raised will go directly to Bill to help with the mounting medical bills that are coming in along with personal bills and travel expenses to and from MD Anderson in Houston.
