Bill Tamisiea passed away quickly and unexpectedly on May 15, 2020, in his home. Bill was a loving husband and loyal friend, involved uncle and a key crew member at work. His family and friends will miss his razor sharp wit, clever humor and encyclopedic knowledge of baseball and classic rock music. He always demonstrated a genuine care and concern for others, and was a beloved and valued team member at the Walnut Creek Trader Joe’s store where he had worked for six years.
Bill’s close friend Jim remembers him this way:
Bill was the most loyal person I’ve ever met. I can’t begin to express how much he saved my life by giving me a home when I needed it – it is a debt I can never repay. Bill started a fantasy baseball league in 1984 which still exists in 2020 because he made it happen. He never ended a relationship because someone didn’t think like he did. Bill had an extraordinarily special place in the life of all his friends and family members.
Bill’s friend and co-worker Steve shared these words about Bill:
Bill’s teammates at Trader Joe’s remember how much fun it was to work with him. He was generous with his knowledge in training new coworkers as well as a friend to everyone who worked with him. Bill’s extensive knowledge of sports, particularly baseball, made him the arbiter of many sports related discussions both at work and at social get-togethers. He amazed friends with answer to the most esoteric sports questions. Most of all, Bill was a good friend. He was sincere, honest and there for support when you
needed it.
Bill leaves behind his wife Candy, mother Diane, sisters Margaret and Patricia, and nine nieces and nephews: Spencer, Zahra, Christopher, Adrianna, Kira, Liam, Rowan, Conneely, and Finn. In addition, his brothers-in-law Bill, Steve, Tom and uncles John, Tom, Mike and Rick.
In lieu of flowers we are asking friends to consider contributing to this GoFundMe campaign to help cover the expenses during this difficult time.
