On Saturday, October 12th, the world lost a great man after his courageous year-long battle with cancer. Bill was an amazing husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He was so lucky to find his calling in life when he became a teacher. His love of teaching, mixed with his inimitable sense of humor, impacted thousands of students, teachers, and parents. I consider myself honored to have learned from him as a colleague over the last 15 years. If you never had the opportunity to see Bill teach, I can never put it into words. His passion for teaching flowed through the hallways. The raps, wigs, costumes, flying monkeys, bike riding through the hallways, and so much more, made him the most sought-after teacher in the building. Behind all of the antics was a man who cared deeply about teaching, loved everyone that stepped into his classroom, and was truly one of the kindest souls I've ever met.
Throughout this past year, Bill's beautiful family handled things with courage and generosity. Jill was by Bill's side every single step of the way, seeking out and ensuring that he received the best medical care, no matter where they had to travel or what sacrifices had to be made.
All of the funds from this campaign will go directly to Jill to help cover the many unexpected costs that will arise during this difficult time. If you are able and would like to donate to the Turgeon family, it will be greatly appreciated.
