Billie Tyler (RN, Human Rights Advocate, Grandma)

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

At 4:35am on July 16th, a fire and subsequent water damage destroyed Billie Tyler's apartment and belongings in Lovettsville, VA. Despite no warning from smoke detectors, she and her grandson (and the pets) made it out alive. However, the "things" that made up her life are not recoverable. Loudoun County and beyond... please open your hearts to help her get back on her feet.

As a Registered Nurse working with the HIV community, Billie has dedicated her life to helping others, but she now needs our help. Billie has led her life with empathy and compassion, serving thousands of sick and emotionally anguished patients in the DMV area. You may have seen Billie trying to change the world by advocating for women's rights while attending rallies and protests in support of equality. Or you may have seen her distributing Naloxone from her car in downtown DC, a drug that reverses opioid overdoses. Billie is currently staying with family as she processes this loss, and begins to formulate a plan for starting over. As a result, there is no room to store physical donations just yet. However, your financial contribution will help her secure permanate housing and buy furniture, kitchen-ware, towels, toiletries, food, a TV, etc. when she is ready.
