Bill's Big Battle
Donation protected
Just before Thanksgiving, our Dad got sick. He developed a severe sore throat which continued to worsen through Christmas. After several emergency room visits and doctor's appointments, he finally convinced the doctors this was not a result of Covid, and there had to be a more significant issue. He was referred to the right doctor, where they discovered a large mass on the base of his tongue in his throat. A quick biopsy later, our biggest fears became a reality. Our Dad, Maggey's husband, Grandpop, your DJ, that funny guy, Mr. Lynch, Coach, Uncle Bill, or just Bill to most of you, was officially diagnosed with Stage 3 Tongue/Throat Cancer.
He is the backbone of our family and has a work ethic and determination like no other. The doctors advised everyone reacts differently to chemo and radiation treatments, and he may not feel any side effects for the first 3 weeks of treatment. After those initial weeks, it would intensify. Well....
His body is not handling the treatments well. After just one week of treatment, he is suffering changes in his voice (which he will likely lose for some time) and is rapidly losing his ability to swallow any food at all. He has a port and a feeding tube. It has been a challenge to find the proper schedule for his feedings. We are confident he will get the hang of this. The side effects have made us quickly realize he will not be able to work much farther into his treatments.
The future is uncertain. However, we know he needs to focus on beating this cancerous monster. With much reluctance, we ask for your support to help ease the stress of medical bills and the cost of living for our parents as he climbs this mountain to beat cancer.
Our Dad has dedicated his life to helping out Girl Scouts, coaching gymnastics, volleyball & cheerleading, donating his DJ services for fundraisers, and the list goes on. With no questions asked, he drops everything to be there for his family and friends. Whether it is a middle of the night emergency, early morning drive to the airport, helping someone move homes, it doesn't matter, he is there! Bill and Maggey need some assistance during these challenging times. Please consider donating!
