Help My Family Beat Cancer
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Greg Eckstrom, and my personal hero (My uncle Bill) has cancer.
He was diagnosied with kidney cancer back in 09/2015 and went through his treatments, and as he is the strongest and bravest person I know, he beat his cancer.
Fast forward to October of this year when he had an accident and had fallen off a ladder and my aunt made him go get checked out. Turns out that the cancer not only came back but it had spread to his lungs.
He is currently going to Cancer Treatment Centers of America and they have fast tracked him for his immunotherapy to start today 11/28/2016. Immunotherapy is a treatment that uses your body's own immune system to help fight cancer.
Once he starts his therapy he will be unable to work or do much of anything. This will force my wonderful aunt to keep working in order to keep the bills paid. Plus having to take care of my Uncle Bill all while trying to stay sane.
The money we raise for my Uncle Bill will go directly to him and my Aunt Deb, this money will be used to pay any items his insurance won't cover. As it is almost the new year his deductable will be resetting as of January, so we don't really have a solid idea of how much he will need. If there is money left over after his medical bills and personal bills (mortgage, utilities, ect) he has requested that we donate it to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Words cannot explain how much my Uncle Bill means to me and our family. As I said before he is my personal hero; he does for others without expecting anything in return. He is the guy who we all strive to be and now he needs us more than ever.
Your donation of anything from a dollar to whatever you can spare would mean the world to me and my family.
He starts his treatment today so as soon as we can give him a safety-net with our donations, the sooner he can not worry about the financial part of being sick and just worry about getting better and being the best uncle a guy could ask for.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
For all those that donated and want more follow up info I will be glad to update this page or find a new way to share all that your donations have done to help my family!
