Hi, my name is Billy Hine. My professional name for my acting career (when it was still active) is Billy Staples. So therefore, I kind of combined the 2 and am calling myself Billy Staples Hine, so the best of both worlds knows hopefully who I am.
I am presently not in great physical shape. On January 4th I found myself unable to breathe and thought I had Covid. I was lucky enough to be just passing by a hospital, and my wife noticed this, so I said to pull in and let me get a Covid test. I had a right to be concerned. I had been self quarantining for about six days as my roommate had tested positive for Covid. I was trying to be careful, but I just felt horrible. Long story short, I went into the hospital, and they asked me to wait while they prepared the covid test. Well thankfully, I wound up at this hospital, Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, as they were terrific. Right after my Covid test, they were looking at me, said I looked pale, and the breathing was alarming. They wheeled me right in for an EKG of my heart. Well, as you may have guessed, the EKG came out with all kinds of problems, and they proceeded to start rushing me on a gurney to all different parts of the hospital. It seemed like there were no other patients with all the attention I was getting as they surmised that this attack or myocardial infarcation as they called it may have happened a while ago, and I didn't realize it. The bottom line is one of my main coronary arteries was completely blocked with a plaque build-up, and no blood was going through the artery. The doctor I owe my life to tried to put in a stent, but the build-up was so severe and difficult to remove that he could not do it. He wound up doing a balloon angioplasty which opened up the artery enough that blood flow was finally resumed through the artery. Granted, this is not entirely open and I may have to go back to the cath lab, and they may try again in the future. This procedure is necessary because my doctor, Dr. Gruber, the head of the Cath lab at this hospital, told me I have frontal heart damage to my heart. This will not regenerate but may be stronger with time, especially if I need to go for another procedure. I am not out of the woods. My blood flow is minimal; I cannot go back to work yet; I have no income and am 2 months behind in my rent coming this month. I can use some help. I feel very awkward even doing this, but I feel like I am out of ways to get help. I forgot to mention that while all this was happening, I had also tested positive for Covid, which may have contributed to the heart attack symptoms.
I get winded with the slightest amount of activity with things as simple as just getting dressed.
I am not sure how to do this without sounding like I am begging, but this guy can use some help. Those of you who know me from my radio, comedy and acting careers, I hope I have provided you with some laughs over the years. The rest of my family and friends know that I am a tough individual, and for me to do something like this is totally out of character.
I would be glad to answer any questions any of you might have. My e-mail is listed in my profile. Please do what you can, as I am already grateful if any of you have read this so far and are still with me.
Thank you all so much in advance. God Bless, and I welcome all prayers and good thoughts as well.
Take care and again, thank you.
