Billy Goodson Medical Fund

Donation protected

Billy Goodson is the son of Sue Goodson and grandson of Rev. Dr. Chester H. Byars Sr. of Finleyville, PA. Billy has been diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer at the relatively young age of 54. He is a loving and devoted father as well as an extremely hard working man.  Billy is bravely battling this condition and is blessed to have the love and support of  a wonderful group of family and friends.  Those who know him have witnessed his devotion to his family, friends, church, and larger community.  Billy is present at every family function. You can count on him to be there, no matter how far, to show his support and love for family.  Billy and his wife, Minister Alycia Goodson, have a beautiful family of 6 children.  Their youngest two daughters, Amiyah and Jayden, are pictured with the couple in the photo above. Below is a photo of Billy and Alycia taken prior to Billy's illness.

The Present Situation

As you might expect, this disease is taking a toll on Billy, not only physically, but emotionally and financially.  He has experienced a dramatic weight loss of 50 lbs. due to his inability to eat.  His loss of appetite is due in part to a mass at the top of his pancreas.  The position of the mass is too close to blood vessels, rendering it inoperable.  Doctors plan to shrink the mass with chemotherapy and radiation.  In addition to the doctor’s treatment plan, WE KNOW AND WE ARE EXPECTING AND CLAIMING THE MIRACLE THAT GOD IS AT WORK TO HEAL AND RESTORE BILLY’S HEALTH.

The Challenges Ahead

Those whose lives have been affected by cancer, know the ravages of chemotherapy on the body. At present, Billy is back to work but has exhausted all of his vacation time for his chemo treatments.

Billy has worked in the mining industry for 23 years and has remained a loyal employee and continues to make the one way 90 minute drive to West Virginia  each day, all while undergoing his chemo treatments. Billy does not have long or short term disability and  would only potentially qualify for Social Security Disability if he stops working completely. To continue to work, provide for his family, and meet his obligations is certainly of utmost importance for such a hard working man.

Your Support Is Needed

Firstly, we are writing to ask that you fervently pray for Billy and his family. We know that the prayers of the righteous availeth much and that God can touch his body and remove any affliction within it. We also ask that if you have the means to support with a financial gift of any amount, it would be more than appreciated. It would help alleviate some of the financial burdens Billy is facing and allow him to better focus on healing emotionally and physically.

Thank you for your support!
